Robyn Julie

Robyn Julie

Mrs Julie studied Foundation Phase Teaching at the Durban College of Education affectionally known as DOKKIES and later specialised in Inclusive and Special Needs education. She has been blessed with three amazing children at home, four rambunctious fur babies and four groups of pre-schoolers to care for and guide through life. It is important for those under her care to know that they are uniquely special, protected and loved. After more than 23 years in Pre-Primary education, she found her home in the St Lizzies team in 2023. Robyn is a life-long learner, often being schooled by the children that surround her and believes that mental, physical and spiritual growth is the foundation for a balanced, happy individual.
Michelle Enslin

Michelle Enslin

Since May 2020, Mrs Enslin has been our St. Lizzies administrator; our go to person who ensures that everything is in its place and that everyone is safe. Although she likes to keep busy and be productive throughout the day, she also finds a nice cup of tea and being in nature relaxing. She enjoys spending time in the Berg or beach and would really love to visit the Maldives one day! Amongst all her admin duties, Michelle relates well to young children and is especially kind towards animals. Her advice to parents would be to “hand over your children to God” and she believes that children should be given the opportunity to fall, find their true selves and grow to be stronger individuals.

Teaching Team

Kirsty Herbst

Kirsty Herbst

Mrs Herbst achieved her B.Ed in Foundation phase in 2023 and St. Lizzies was incredibly fortunate to secure her services. Along with many other special qualities, her voice is her superpower and Kirsty can often be heard singing along with her children during teaching times and on the playground. She loves listening to Adel but not as much as spending quality time with her two boys and values doing things with her family. Like a true South African, she has a biltong fetish and finds comfort in braaing and baking with her family. A secret….. she is afraid of all ants and although she will never hurt them, will run away. It is important for her that her children learn that they can be whatever they want to be as long as they set their mind to it.

Jayne Burgess

Jayne Burgess

Mrs Burgess qualified in 1983 to teach Junior and Pre-Primary, receiving a Higher Diploma in Education. Since qualifying, she has gained a wealth of knowledge and experience caring for and teaching children of various ages at different schools. She owned her own play centre for 24 years before we were fortunate to benefit from her services here at St. Lizzies. Jayne is a mom of two children and has two grandsons which she adores. Above this, she is a cat lover who has four fur babies of her own but if given the chance would adopt many more. She loves reading and is a talented seamstress. Her life motto is “keep faith and integrity” and she prides herself in instilling the skills and knowledge in others to enable them to manage situations that may arise.

Penny McIntyre

Penny McIntyre

Mrs Mac studied Foundation Phase Education at Edgewood and qualified in 1983. She has an impressive 39 years of Pre-school experience where she has used dynamic and diverse teaching styles to reach, educate, motivate and inspire her little learners. Despite viewing herself as technically challenged, she is in fact a pioneer of robotics, an engineering enthusiast and the Face Book whizz. Penny is known for her integrity, intuition and ability to build self-esteem and confidence in others. She believes that learning is a life-long process and that a happy child learns. She often refers to school as her other home and the staff as her other family.

Zodwa Dlamini

Zodwa Dlamini

Ms Dlamini has been working in Early Childhood Education since 1997 and was awarded her National Educare Diploma in 2000.  St. Lizzies Pre Primary School has benefitted from her bubbly personality and past educational experience, kindness and dedication to the phase since September 2006. Zodwa is a quiet natured but bubbly person who likes things to be done the right way. She likes to help others but does not like cooking. Her family is very important to her and her children bring her great happiness.

Pascale Van Rensburg

Pascale Van Rensburg

Mrs Van has a B.Ed in Foundation phase and after working at various Pre Schools joined the St. Lizzies family in April 2016.  She believes that “a quick goodbye is a happy goodbye” and her advice to parents is to trust the process, it will work as she will never give up until her school children are happy and healthy. Her teaching philosophy is that children learn through participating in real life experience. She is happiest when with her husband and daughter Lily visiting their family in Waterfall. Pascale loves to read, and her favourite books are The Harry Potter series and The Great Gatsby.

Aftercare Team

Kholeka Sogoni

Kholeka Sogoni

Ms. Sogoni began her St. Lizzies journey 2019 and is now our senior Aftercare Assistant. Her friends and family describe her as a good shoulder to lean on as she loves to help people around her. She thinks that it is important to surround oneself with knowledgeable people and to meditate on the word of God. Some may say that she talks too much, however she loves learning about people and being apart of their growth – especially with her children. One day Kholeka would like to climb a mountain to see the view from the top and enjoy the beauty that nature has to offer.

Jenna Felton

Jenna Felton

Miss Felton recently joined the team and is happy to be a part of providing a safe and fun space for the children to play in throughout the afternoons. Jenna can be described as outgoing and active and enjoys her time at our school.

Robert Langa

Robert Langa

Uncle Robert joined the St. Lizzies Team in January 2009, and his cheerful and vibrant personality has been valued for many years. He is always smiling, laughing and dancing at school whilst making sure that our lovely garden is safe and clean for the children to play in. He believes that one should focus on happiness. He loves all sports, and his favourite team is the Kaizer Chiefs. He can often be heard shouting “Amakhosi For Life!” On his time off, he travels to his farm in New Castle to visit his family cows.

Our beautiful Aunty Jabu has been working at St. Lizzies since 2009, keeping the school immaculately clean and tidy. She spoils the teachers daily with their much-welcomed tea or coffee and is always willing to lend a helping hand whenever needed. Although her favourite place to visit is church, she also enjoys shopping at any store that has great specials. Aunty Jabu has two sons and loves going to see her mom, brother and sister in Mzinkhulu. The time spent gardening with her mom is the most special to her. One day she would love to visit uShaka Marine World.
